This mix of dried, ground spices is a base for many traditional dishes. A large amount can be prepared and kept in the freezer throughout the year. Baharat can also be bought in many mainstream supermarkets, although the flavour profile will differ slightly from this homemade version.

If buying the ingredients whole
Remove the seeds from the cardamom pods
Blend everything together in a spice grinder
If buying the ingredients pre-ground
Reduce the amount of cardamom to 5g, and mix all of the ingredients together
